Training is vital to achieving growth objectives in 2008
Kalamazoo, MI – January 3, 2008
Alliant Engineering, an innovative supplier of product development services, engineering services, staffing services, and contract manufacturing, announced today that it received a grant from the state of Michigan worth more than $12,000 for employee training. The grant is funded by the Employee Enhancement Program through Michigan Works!, a competitive career development agency for the state of Michigan.
“This grant will fuel a significant portion of our training plan for 2008,” said Randy Newsome, vice president at Alliant Engineering. “As we have added capabilities, the opportunities for growth have increased at an even faster pace. Employee training becomes vital as we plan for aggressive growth.”
Alliant will use the grant to cross-train employees in several engineering services areas and to bolster its knowledge of FDA regulations as the Keystone Product Development business unit focuses on medical contract manufacturing.
Randy Newsome also stated “We want to provide a broader base for our engineering services customers by getting more engineers trained in ANSYS, Solidworks, and Moldflow. As we get deeper into medical device manufacturing, we have to make sure new employees are well versed in ISO 13485 regulations and FDA Design Controls. The funding from Michigan Works! will allow us to complete training in each of these areas in the next few months. We have essentially shortened our cycle time for training which, in turn, increases our ability to grow.”
Alliant Engineering provides product development, reverse engineering, rapid prototyping, contract manufacturing, industrial design, digitizing, solid modeling, CAD, and a full array of CAE services including FEA (finite element analysis), Moldflow, and CFD (computational fluid dynamics).
